What is sustainable clothing?

Sustainable clothing refers to ways of producing clothing that consider environmental, social and economic impacts throughout the product life cycle.  This production method aims to minimize harm to the planet and ensure fair treatment for workers. Promote a healthier environment by producing new garments made from sustainable and innovative materials by manufacturing clothing from recycled materials.

Key aspects of sustainable clothing include:

Eco-friendly Materials: Using fabrics that are organic, recycled, or have a low environmental footprint, such as organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, recycled polyester, and Tencel.

Ethical Production: Ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and respecting workers’ rights throughout the supply chain. This often involves certifications such as Fair Trade or B Corp.Avoid harming life by using ethical and environmentally friendly materials that are acceptable to nature.

Resource Efficiency: Reducing water, energy, and chemical use during production. This includes adopting processes that use less water, renewable energy sources, and non-toxic dyes.

Low Waste: Minimizing waste through practices like zero-waste pattern making, recycling off-cuts, and designing for durability and longevity to reduce the need for frequent replacement.

Circular Economy: Encouraging practices like clothing recycling, upcycling, and creating garments that can be easily disassembled and repurposed at the end of their life.

Transparent Supply Chains: Providing transparency about the origins of materials and the production process, allowing consumers to make informed choices.

Unlike other fast fashion brands that only care about profits, SYS GROUP pays close attention to the above principles and clearly states that sustainable clothing production has a positive impact on humans and the earth. In 2019, a textile and clothing sustainable development team was established, and gradually initiated environmental certifications. In 2022, we have completed the layout of a green industrial chain with rich technological content from the raw materials, fabrics and yarns, manufacturing, products, and certification aspects.
